Unlike oily skin, dry skin does not produce enough sebum. Dry skin is characterized by:

• Dull skin tone
• Small or non-enlarged pores
• A tight and rough surface
• A tendency to redden and crack easily

Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, suffers from a lack of moisture, where the problem is not low sebum production but rather a lack of hydration.

A skin type defined as oily has an overactive sebum production, which can lead to:

• Shiny skin (even in the morning and immediately after washing)
• Clearly visible pores
• Tendency to blackheads and pimples
• Makeup that easily fades during the day

Pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads are often associated with oily skin but also to acne-prone skin, which has an increased tendency to become inflamed.

Sensitive skin can be difficult to identify because sensitivity is often a condition rather than a skin type. The skin can become sensitive due to external or internal factors, meaning sensitivity is not always genetic.

Signs of sensitive skin:

• Easily reacts to new products or seemingly without reason (e.g., air pollution)
• May be linked to allergies such as asthma or eczema

As we age, the skin loses its elasticity and signs of aging gradually begin to appear.

The formation of lines, wrinkles, skin sagging, and uneven skin tone can be prevented with a long-term well-aging routine. Existing signs of aging can be softened with anti-aging skincare.

Pigmentation and uneven skin tone are mainly caused by UV radiation, but factors such as stress, hormonal changes, and skin damage, such as acne scars, can also contribute.
